My research concerns modifications of gravity and early Universe cosmology.

I elaborate theoretical aspects of physical models and look for their signatures in the cosmological data. Specifically, my contribution includes works on alternatives to the standard Cold Dark Matter scenario (mimetic matter) and inflation (conformal Universe).

I am currently focused on scalar field theories with non-trivial kinetic terms, e.g., k-essence and Horndeski theories. Some of these models are promising in cosmology, as they may trigger the accelerated expansion of the Universe, being at the same time free of ghost instabilities. Still, they may exhibit pathologies already at the classical level, e.g. predict propagation of informaiton faster than the speed of light or lead to the formation of caustic singularities. I am looking for ways of completing these models that are free of those pathologies.
