My current research focuses on modifications of gravity that could possibly admit an accelerated expansion of the universe of the type observed through cosmological probes as dark energy (e.g. scalar-tensor models of Horndeski type). In particular, I am investigating the stability of dark energy fluctuations in a subclass of these theories not altering the propagation speed of tensor perturbations in the presence of (large amplitude) gravitational waves. The goal is to determine and constrain fundamental properties of gravity.
Additionally, I am interested in solutions for compact objects within these theories and their behaviour under gravitational wave emission in binary systems.
